We have Level 2 Emergency courses which are suitable for outdoor professionals and are registered with BCU, RYA, MLTB amongst others.

REC Level Two Emergency

If you participate in adventurous activities like Canoeing, Rock-Climbing or Mountain Biking, you owe it to your friends to have knowledge and practical experience of first aid.

All subjects will be taught with the focus on wilderness, as opposed to urban, situations:

  • Vital Signs

  • Emergency action

  • Airway Management

  • Unconsciousness

  • Choking

  • Drowning

  • Bleeding

  • Breathing

  • Rescue breathing & CPR

  • Shock

  • Fractures & Dislocations

  • Spinal Injury

  • Casualty Handling

  • Common Illness

  • Problems from heat and cold

We won't make you a paramedic, but you will have the confidence to act quickly and effectively in the event of an accident or illness.

Whats included: We provide all equipment and instruction

What do I need: You need to wear trainers or walking boots and bring outdoor clothes, lunch and something to write with.

Do I get a certificate?: Yes, the course is overseen by REC and a certificate will be given on completion.

Is there an assessment: No, the assessment of the course is done on an informal basis throughout the two days 

Is this available all year round: Yes, we run a course each month. Course start at 9.00am each day
